PART TWO:
THE VIRGIN MARY – WHAT ABOUT HER
WHERE IS MARY NOW?
Mary, the mother of the Jesus – the man, died like everyone else. Like all Christians in Christ when they die. She has entered into the Lord’s rest, the bosom of Abraham, or paradise.
Hebrews 4:10 speaks of people who have died in Christ.
Hebrews 4:10 KJV For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
All that enter into the Lord’s rest cease from their labors of faith, even God rested from His labors. Read the following verse:
Hebrews 4:1-5 KJV Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. (2) For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (3) For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. (4) For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. (5) And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Surely Mary, the mother of the Jesus – the man, a just woman, did enter into the Lord’s rest.
To be sure Mary has entered into her rest, let us read:
Revelation 14:13 KJV And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Those who enter into the Lord’s rest, paradise, or the bosom of Abraham, are in a semi sleep. A deep rest, like in a dream, but they are not active in works. Mary, like all of the others is in a state of inactivity.
When Jesus comes again, these souls, minds, or spirits will be resurrected to receive their new and eternal body and come with Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:14-17 KJV (14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. (15) For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. (16) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Those in Christ, in the church(of Christ), who are physically alive when He comes, will be transferred into eternal beings.
1 Corinthians 15:51-52 KJV - (51) Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, (52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Included with those saints are all true Christians, who are coming with the Lord, is Mary, the mother of the fleshly body of Christ. But remember, she cannot be the mother of the Holy Spirit of God. Also, Joseph, Mary’s husband, the apostles, and all faithful Christians who died in Christ.
None of these had come out of retirement or their rest or inactivity. Until Christ comes again none will have resurrected, have left the Lord’s rest or come out of the sleep, dream-like state until Christ comes again.
1 Corinthians 15:20-23 KJV - (20) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. (21) For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. (22) For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. (23) But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
To teach today that Mary has been resurrected and has entered the Throne of God with Jesus is to contradict this message of the Holy Spirit.
To teach that Mary is actively working in the Lord’s kingdom also contradicts the Word of God. Who shall we believe? What man teaches or what the Bible teaches, which is in harmony with itself.
Our next lesson on “The Virgin Mary – What About Her?” we will discuss, “How can the virgin Mary be a mediator?”
